The Bike trip is our Youth Group’s most exciting trip. For seven days we tour several of the San Juan and Gulf Islands on our bikes. All of our personal items for the eight days are on our bikes. A van follows behind us with our food, tents, and other supplies, Every night we sit down to study the word of God, in some of the most amazing scenery you could ever imagine. It really is a powerful time.
This year the Bike Trip will be from July 27th through August 2nd , but before that time comes, there is a lot that you want to be involved in.
For Instance:
July 24th we will be having our tent night, and last parent info night, at 7PM, at Lewis Creek Park. We will be assigning everyone to a tent, and be practicing setting up and tearing down. The staff will also be there to answer any last minute questions you may have.
July 26th we will need to load up for our trip. This is the day BEFORE we leave. You can come and drop off your stuff between 12 and 12 AM, at the Lakemont Lodge. This includes all your gear, and you saddle bags.
July 27th DAY OF DEPARTURE. Please join us at Calvary Chapel Eastside’s FIRST SERVICE at 9AM, as Pastor Robert will be praying over us before we leave. We will leave directly after first service at 10:30AM, and we WILL LEAVE ON TIME.
Tent night is the last night for you to bring any money you have due as well as your parent permission slips with your birth certificate copy, and picture ID (if you choose, you may substitute your passport for your birth certificate copy, but you still must have photo ID). Without the appropriate ID, you will not be allowed to come since customs will charge $200.00 per person for an identification check. Finally, the packet will be available online as the trip approaches. There will be permission slips, as well as other papers that need to be filled out, signed, and turned in to Mike. We will also have more information about the trip at that time.
Please remember: All of the permission slips, ID, as well as the full cost is due on tent night, which is the 24th of July. Your bikes are also due at that time, so that we can tune them up. Your packed saddle bags must be in on Saturday the 26th.
