Student Leadership
The student leaders are those students in the Youth Group who have shown an interest to lead their fellow students in the things of the Lord. They have really shown a deep hunger for the things of God and the building of His kingdom. It is our desire to give them as many tools as we can to help them grow both in their relationships with Jesus, and to explore and hone their God given leadership talents. We are currently reading through the book "Servant Leadership" by Randy Sims which has been life changing. God has also been giving them opportunities to lead within the youth group as well, through reading the announcements, leading devotionals before the messages on Thursdays and on all the retreats, maintaining the website, and more. God is truly raising them up for His purposes!

I was raised in a Christian home, and in fact, I've been coming to CCE my whole life. I initially accepted Christ when I was very small, but when I was about 12, I realized that Christianity wasn't just something automatically passed down by my parents: it was my own faith. I then re-dedicated my life to serving Christ, and since then - especially since entering high school - I've come to know Jesus as my savior, lover, and most loyal friend. I've gone through lots of ups and downs in my faith, struggling with insecurity, doubt, and fear. I still struggle sometimes, I'll admit. I'm still FAR from perfect, and sometimes I feel so unworthy to lead, but God continually astonishes me with how He'll use the weak things of this world to confound the strong (1 Cor. 1:27). I'm now 18 and a senior. I have a deep love for the arts, particularly music and theatre, and I'm excited to see how God will use those things in the years to come as I seek to serve Him as a minister of His Gospel.

I was born 1991and grew up in a unbelieving family. When I was 7 (1998) some of our relatives from Australia came over for a while and got us plugged in to a church. In Sunday school one day I "accepted Christ" without understanding what it meant. All I did was say the words that the teacher told us to say and I probably got a prize for it or something. In 2002 we started looking for a different church because my little brother wasn't happy with his Sunday school class. We church hopped for a while and finally settled on CCE. When I got into this youth group in 2004 I fell passionately in love my savior, Jesus Christ. Instead of reading my Bible or doing the right thing because my mom or dad told me too, I did it to honor God and because I wanted to. Of course there have been MANY rough times in my walk with the Lord but God has lavished His grace upon me and brought me back to Him every time. I don't know what God's plans are for my life, but I'm willing to follow His lead. At the moment He has laid the mission field on my heart. So, that's what I'm preparing myself for as I work toward going through a nursing program and learn to be a worship leader.
