Mike & Nichole Monjay

project_eastside_2005_001.jpgMike and Nichole met each other at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, and have now been married for nine years. When Mike finished school, he became a staff member at  Calvary Chapel Palm Springs and was in charge of the music ministry there. When Nichole finished school, she moved to Palm Springs and they were married on June 9 of 2001. Before moving to the Eastside of Seattle, they enjoyed going on mission trips to Russia and were praying about moving there permanently when the Lord spoke to them about the Northwest and specifically Seattle. Mike has been serving as the youth pastor with Nichole now at Calvary Chapel Eastside for the past six years.

James Robertson

I grew up in Riverside, California, where my family attended Harvest Christian Fellowship. After graduating from college, I moved up to Washington to work at Microsoft. Shortly after arriving in Washington I joined Calvary Chapel Eastside and began serving in the junior high ministry. Currently, I teach a high school guys Bible study on Monday nights. Aside from my day job as a developer at Microsoft and my time at church, my hobbies include playing classical piano and Scottish fiddle.

Dave and Melissa have been commited to serving the Lord in many ways here at the youth group. Melissa has provided us with a real atmosphere with her gifts to decorate and to do arts and crafts. She is also responsible for our secret sister program that we have done in the past. Dave has a real heart for the youth group and really gets involved one on one with the boys. He loves to hang out and have a good time with them. Together Dave and Melissa have been invaluable to us. They have also added two of our newest members to the youth group with their beautiful childern Isaiah and Joy.

Abi Geerdes

Hi! My name is Abi, and I'm blessed to be a part of this ministry here at CCE! I grew up in a Christian family, but Jesus wasn't always directing my life. I know because of my testimony of growing up in a Christian family I have the opportunity to share with kids that just because your parents are Christians or you go to church, that doesn't make you a Christian- and there is so much more to knowing God than just believing in Jesus and having your sins forgiven! I desire to see these girls and guys really know God and want to serve Him with everything they have.
I'm 25- and have been a part of a lot of different things in the past years- going to Bible College, spending time with that in Peru, living and working at camps in Colorado, Bellevue College, and being a part of the Jr. High and High school ministries here at church. I'm so blessed to be here at this church for this season of my life. Thank you Jesus!
"I will sing to the Lord, for he has dealt bountifully with me." Psalms 13:6

I grew up in a Christian household and gave my heart to the Lord at a very young age. My search and walk with the Lord really began when I was thrust into top gear after the death of my mother during my freshman year of highschool.  A series of circumstances ensued.  I found myself wrapped up in bondage to addictions, lifestyles, pains and most of all fear. It was not in a single event, but over a process of events and time, which came into full force around my senior year, that the Lord began to work on my behalf to heal my life and scars; even before I was ready to give them over to Him.  I had a relationship  with the Lord, but was unwilling to walk with Him, and instead was walking in my own strength.

During my mid senior year, I accompanied a friend to NTBYM, and the Lord began to undo the chains that had been built over my heart and life through the teaching and revealing of His word. I fully relinquished my heart and life over to Him, He freed me from my many addictions and pains. About a year and a half later, the Lord really began tugging me back towards Calvary Chapel Eastside and specifically the youth at NTBYM. And so I followed. And have been joyfully committed to loving and serving the Lord and the youth at No Turning Back Youth Ministries for almost the last two years. :)
